Kitchen Island Design at Eastwood Homes

Kitchen Island Design – Bar Height or Counter Height?

Most new home floor plan designs include an eat-in kitchen. Browse the plan library of any new home builder and you are likely to find that the vast majority of the kitchens include countertop seating. Eastwood Homes is no different. Our homeowners love the functionality of built-in kitchen seating. With both peninsula-style seating and separate kitchen island seating, the surface may be counter-height or bar height depending on the style and layout of the home. Both options have their own advantages!

It’s similar to Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring, otherwise known as LVP, which has been a favorite among our homeowners for years now, and which also offers better protections against spills over the more traditional hardwood flooring.

We Fancy Fall

It makes sense that, being in the business of “home sweet home,” we would appreciate the fall season. This is the time when we decorate our front stoops and porches with pumpkins, wreaths of orange and red, and a few dried corn stalks to welcome our guests. This is the time of year when we start baking hearty soups and cuddle up on the couch on a Saturday afternoon to watch our favorite college football team. Now that we’ve escaped the sweltering heat, we can now invite our friends over for a fire in our built-in outdoor living area. This is the season where we invite our entire family and maybe even some close friends to give thanks in our home while we feast on turkey and mashed potatoes. We love fall.

They come with en suite bathrooms that parents can mark as kid-free zones (hopefully) and keep the fancy bath salts and bubble baths away from the youngsters. Some even have calming sitting rooms for the end-all-be-all owner suite spaces.

Memorial Day is a time of remembrance and celebrations

Memorial Day is a national holiday for remembering those who have died while serving our country. Originally known as Decoration Day, it’s a time when families, individuals and organizations take time to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of our troops. In addition to parades in honor of the historical meaning of Memorial Day, people are also celebrating the seasonal significance of this holiday. This weekend has become synonymous with the kick-off to summer! Picnics, cook-outs, and get-togethers with friends and loved ones are currently being planned in homes across the country.

Building or purchasing a new home is a whirlwind of excitement! In today’s market, homebuyers have a plethora of flexible floor plans and homes to choose from! With almost unlimited options, buyers are often confronted with difficult decisions begging questions such as, “How many square feet are in this home?”, “How large is this floor plan?”, and worse, “What is the price per square foot?” Rather than focusing on the functional use of the home, many home searchers turn the hunt into a numbers game letting the size and square feet dictate their home buying decision.
