Let It Go!

June 23, 2015

Cypress Kitchen

We bet you didn’t know that June 23rd is Let It Go Day! We realize this isn’t a wildly popular holiday, and it may just be a day that some blogger somewhere made up, but still, it resonated with us and we’re wondering if you can relate too!

We all have something in our lives that we want or need to let go of. It can be a stressful relationship, a few extra pounds, all that extra stuff that is slowly (or not so slowly) turning a bedroom into a storage room… but since we are the new home experts, we thought we’d focus our Let It Go holiday on the home!

If you’re living in an older home, even one as young as 10 or 15 years old, your home may not have all the new features that you are dreaming of today. There may be some features that even make your home seem older than it is. We found a fun blog that lists “10 Old & Outdated Home Improvements” on a website that focuses on home improvement projects. But, we’d like to show you how you can get the new home you want while letting go of those features you don’t have at a great value today without having to fill your weekends for the next two years chipping away at a long to-do list!

Landlines

It’s amazing how quickly this aspect of our lives has changed! Landlines are a sign of the past, and if you are stuck with phone jacks throughout your home you might be wishing those were a thing of the past, too! Most of the time, they’re really only needed for our modems today. Our homes come with all the high-tech wiring you need in your home in the high-tech spots you need it, like in the space above the fireplace where you are going to put that LED screen television! Speaking of high-tech gadgetry, we also offer programmable thermostats with our dual-zone HVAC. This will be a little luxury you’ll never want to do without again!

Carpet

We are all about carpet in the bedrooms, but in the main living areas, homeowners are moving toward other, easier-to-clean options which are perfect for anyone with kids or pets. Our homes give you many flooring choices including wide plank hardwoods and luxury vinyl plank flooring, which provide a tough option for those high traffic homes while giving the look of beautiful hardwoods. If you haven’t heard of the advantages of LVP flooring, check out our previous blog post.

Large entertainment center

Let’s face it, the mammoth size entertainment center is a thing of the past. Like the big bulky televisions that used to make their home inside of them, you can barely give these things away! Our new floorplans will help you find the intersection of happiness and entertainment with your new sleek television above the fireplace. And it’s pre-wired for all your latest television needs!

Storm windows

Eastwood Homes offers our homeowners high-performance vinyl windows as an updated version of the old trusty storm windows. These windows will add to the energy efficiency of your home, saving you money. And, they’ll also save you on maintenance. We think you’ll like these better!

Wallpaper

Now, some designers say that wallpaper is making a comeback, but in small doses. Our walls are smooth, perfect for paint or wallpaper. Our 9-foot ceilings are smooth, too! If you have been living with popcorn ceilings, we think that will be something that will have you singing the Disney song, “Let it go!”, in your living room!

Our homes are full of the latest must-haves while still maintaining a timeless class about them. You’ll find trey ceilings in many of our primary bedrooms and dining rooms as well as signature columns in several of our homes with trim packages available to finish off your rooms. Buyers can give their new home the signature look they’ve been dreaming of – from oiled rubbed bronze to pendant lights -- in our design centers. We’ll help you make your new home your dream home!
