Do-It-All Drop zones
When we think family-friendly, we think of a mud room, or what is more affectionately known as a drop zone. It’s a great place for a busy family to store coats, shoes, backpacks, reusable grocery bags, and more. This is that crucial intersection between the garage and the rest of the home. It proves its value as a space after a long shopping trip when plastic bags full of goodies are dropped off before making their way into the living room, kitchen, etc. The drop zone keeps clutter out! Storage bins under a bench and coat hooks on the wall can turn a cluttered, busy hallway into one of convenience, organization, and utility, and it’s a place every family needs and, we’d guess, every mom wants. Useful Utility Rooms
More often than not, laundry is not pretty. Imagine dirty gym clothes, socks without their partners, and weekend yard work clothes were thrown into the hamper with no place to go. YIKES! Although laundry is many people’s least favorite chore, an amazing utility room can turn this type of chore into a thing of beauty. Many Eastwood Homes plans, like the Charleston, feature an expansive utility room with plenty of room for storage, soaking, and folding! Walk-in laundry rooms allow additional room for air drying plus extra space to iron and steam wrinkles away! Best of all, many Eastwood laundry rooms are large enough to hide all of these unwanted sites. For busy moms, we hope a laundry room that is out of sight is also out of mind, at least until the kiddos need more clean clothes!
Spa-Like Primary Suites
After dropping off groceries in the drop zone and folding laundry in a dream utility room, moms deserve a place to relax. Eastwood Homes offers spa-like primary suites that come with separate soaking tubs perfect for a long, hot bath. A separate shower with designer tile is another great option for busy moms who might not have the time for a daily soak in the tub. Some shower designs like those in our Avery and Roanoke floor plans even have the option for a small sitting ledge. Who wouldn’t love a private retreat after a long day? We think mom would, and she certainly does deserve one. Our Davidson is one of our homes that offers just that, a private retreat in the owner’s suite. Combine that with the spa-like experience of the primary bath, and mom is in for a real treat inside her own home. Who needs a spa when you’ve got the perfect floor plan? Bring in a hair/nail stylist and masseuse and TA-DA- you’ve got a true at-home spa!
Creative Craft Rooms
This year, in honor of Earth Day 2019, we want to celebrate the butterfly and share ways to attract them to your garden! Butterflies are one of our favorite insects (we don’t have many). If there is such a thing as a perfect bug, then the butterfly is at the top of the list. They help pollinate plants and they don’t sting or bite! And, their story of metamorphosis is inspiring to all of us who have felt like a caterpillar at some point in our lives.
Our philanthropic partnership with Levine Children's Hospital has three components, including an annual golf outing and a donation with the sale of every home in the Charlotte area to the hospital. But today, our hearts are focused on the Hospitality Cart. Throughout the years, our team members have donated to the cart, bringing in bags of shampoos and children’s books, soaps and hand lotions, and whatever is needed. We felt a genuine connection to the cart and to Levine. But it was a video shoot that brought our team even closer to a family that has made several trips to the hospital over the past three years.
