Our company’s history dates back to 1977 when our founder Joe Stewart decided to take a chance at home building part-time while working as a school teacher. The Carolina native and U.S. Army veteran started this journey with four homes in Gaston County, North Carolina, and a business phone number that directed straight to the home he shared with his wife, Myra. 

Today, Joe and Myra’s son Clark is helping his father lead the company. The pair are involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring their vision of a home builder with integrity stays true. That focus on quality has helped this company close more than 16,000 homes and build in six metros in the Carolinas and Virginia. And now we are thrilled to expand our Eastwood family into Columbia. We’ve come a long way, but our roots are still the same today as they were in 1977.
