Stylish Trends for Your Primary Bedroom

Caldwell Primary Bedroom

What is more important to you? Having a designer kitchen or a chic primary bedroom? If you’re like us, you want both! And, why shouldn’t you? Thanks to HGTV, our favorite site for inspiration, the sky is the limit! Today, we’d like to share with you 2017’s stylish trends in primary bedrooms. Even if you’re not interested in changing your style, keep reading! You may find something you want to try in your new home….the idea wheels are certainly spinning!

Be Bold with Your Color Palette! Your bedroom is the place where you should decide on colors that best suit your personality! Oftentimes, we focus on neutral colors throughout the rest of the home; but, who says you can’t have fun with the colors in your primary bedroom? Bring on the pinks and greens, and the reds and yellows. Have fun with your paint colors, throw pillows, picture frames, and more. The possibilities are endless! After all, no one spends more time in your bedroom than YOU. Make YOUR room a reflection of your unique personality.

Welcome Back Wallpaper! Yes, we’re serious! Wallpaper is back. I’m not sure we’d ever thought we’d be saying that. With the help of wallpaper, you can create a dramatic, yet subtle look in your primary bedroom. On the right, you will see the primary bedroom of our Newberry plan at Crosby Woods. Here, our interior designer chose wallpaper with a metallic pattern to offset the soft gray painted walls. We love how this eye-catching trend gives the bedroom a chic vibe! What do you think? Too much? Not enough? We’re even using wallpaper designs in our new offices at Eastwood Homes so you can tell we love this particular trend! Few and far between is not our motto when it comes to wallpaper.

Sweet Serenity. If BOLD colors aren’t for you, create a calm atmosphere by decorating your bedroom with light and soft neutral colors. By doing so, you will have a space in your home where you will want to retreat at the end of your day. To go hand-in-hand with your serene bedroom, why not complete it with a luxurious bathroom? Choose a bathroom with abundant storage, a semi-frameless shower, and a large drop-in soaker tub for the ultimate relaxing experience. Pictured on the left is an example of our designer primary bathroom in the Charleston at our Robinson Oaks model. Hello, relaxation!

Get the Most Out of Your Space. Nowadays, the primary bedroom is becoming a “home within a home” and it’s where you want to relax, practice yoga, or even read. Because we understand this need, many of our floor plans offer a sitting area attached to the primary bedroom, just like the photo on the right from our Davidson plan. Our interior designer chose a sofa that is perfect for curling up with a good book and a glass of wine in a clutter-free space. What do you think? Would you use the sitting area in your bedroom? Many of our home shoppers immediately are drawn to this particular space, especially because it keeps worn jeans, pants, dresses, etc off of your beautiful comforter when someone (yourself included) needs a space to sit!

Everything You Touch - Turns to Gold. You may know this already, but gold is coming back as the number one accent color in 2017! We love adding a touch of gold to a room to bring a sense of sophistication and style. Bring gold to your room with picture frames, vases, furniture, and more. Be bold, just like our interior designer with the Ellerbe master bedroom at Flowers Crest, pictured on the left. We even painted the decorative trey ceiling in gold. Talk about being bold!

These are only a few of the trends you can embrace in your new home. Ultimately, you should decorate your new bedroom with the style that best fits your personality and lifestyle! Which of these trends best describes you? Do you like a bedroom with soft, neutral colors, or something loud and bright? Are you looking for a dramatic finish in your chic room or do you want a place you can retreat to and relax? Tell us- what is your bedroom must-have? Share pictures below! We’d love to see your unique style!
