History buffs won't want to miss the Virginia State Capitol. Designed by Thomas Jefferson, the Virginia General Assembly has been meeting in the building since 1788. This makes the capitol home to the oldest legislature in the western hemisphere!
The Richmond Flying Squirrels, the Minor League Baseball Class Double-A Affiliate of the San Fransisco Giants, offer big-league fun every season. They don't call it Funnville for nothing!
The James River, which runs through the city of Richmond, is the only river in the country in an urban setting in which outdoor lovers can raft and kayak class III and IV rapids! The river also features Belle Isle, a cool rock formation in the river which serves as a gathering spot for picnics and and hanging out.
