Eastwood Homes Founding Father
Small wonder Eastwood Homes are built with Carolina lifestyles in mind. Our founding father, Joe Stewart, was raised in the Carolinas. He grew up to play football on scholarship at Appalachian State University, then served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Afterwards, he returned to his hometown and taught at a local college. He always had a yearning to work with the land, and in 1977, that yearning led to the creation of Eastwood Homes. His dream was to build high quality, yet highly affordable homes. Unlike national builders, he was determined never to be driven by Wall Street profits, but by excellence in the houses and the communities.
Today, 30 years later, Eastwood Homes is regarded as one of the premier home builders in the Carolinas, offering not just a place to live, but a way of life. Joe is still totally involved in the company’s operations, overseeing land purchases and all our various divisions.
His son Clark is following in his father’s footsteps. Currently hard at work in the business, he will one day succeed Joe, and carry on the legacy of a Carolina company building Carolina homes reflecting Carolina lifestyles.
